How to use your Pop coats the South African equivalent to candy coating

Pop coats are a versatile creamy, easy to melt discs made in South Africa , that comes in a variety of  rainbow colours and are often used for easy candy making and  coating cake pops.

Pop coats are easy to use and but don't require the careful melting procedures of chocolate – just melt and dip, which makes it easy to decorate with them and achieve a wide variety of looks, to make your baked goods look good.

There are a variety of easy methods one can use they are:

1: Microwave Oven: Bowl

A quick and easy way to melt pop coats in a microwave-safe bowl. Add your pop coats and melt at a

40% power or defrost setting for 1 minute. Stir thoroughly. Continue to microwave and stir at 30-second intervals until smooth and completely melted.

2: Double Boiler: Easy Melting

To create double boilers fill the lower pan with water to below level of top pan. Heat water to a simmer, and then remove from heat. Put your pop coats in top pan and set in position on lower pan. Stir constantly, without beating, until smooth and completely melted.

3: Warming Tray

For Melting More Than One Colour, place different colours of pop coats in oven-safe glass bowls. Position bowls on the warming tray on a low to medium setting, stir while melting. Left on the low setting, the tray will keep your assorted pop coat colours at the ideal melted texture while you are decorating.

Your pop coats are available at bake like a chef, in a variety of colour and gram sizes.
